Can Newly-Launched OPPO Watch 3 Make Competition To Apple Watch? Seems No
Finally, after tons of leaks and official promo posters, the OPPO Watch 3 is here. And we have a chance to compare it with the Apple Watch and understand whether it’s the Android watch that will compete with the Apple product.
The watch will start shipping on August 19, with the first sale starting at 1499 yuan ($222). However, there are several models and each of them should be at the taste of different customers. The OPPO Watch 3 platinum black fluorine rubber model and the feather gold leather strap are priced at 1499 yuan and 1599 yuan ($237), respectively. But you can choose from other strap offers that cost 69 yuan ($10).
The OPPO Watch 3 sports a 1.75-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 372×430. This is the first wearable to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 chip. The battery capacity is 400mAh. Due to the fast charging, it can be fully charged in an hour.
Apart from the Snapdragon W5, the watch also features the Apollo 4 Plus chip jointly developed with the Ambiq team. The watch also comes with the old good UDDE dual-engine hybrid technology.
We are dealing with a smartwatch, so it’s logical it has many sports and health monitoring modes. In this sense, the OPPO Watch 3 supports 100+ sports modes. OPPO has exclusively customized tennis mode to accurately record each swing, while the running mode has added more than 10 professional running data records.
More importantly, the OPPO Watch 3 not only comes standard with eSIM support but also has a rich smart application ecosystem. It has over 80 apps ranking first in the Android camp.
Besides this, our protagonist has many useful features. For instance, if you forget to get the car key, you can use the watch to perform some operations such as opening the door.
Back in 2010, he was dismissed from his position as a lecturer at the university. This made him get another job at his friend’s digital marketing company as a blog writer. After a few years, when he was thinking the article writing is his mission, Google pushed the Panda update and affected the company and websites he was working at. (Un)fortunately and surprisingly, he got an offer to head a large knitting factory. In 2016, he got his Ph.D. and resumed teaching at the University … and writing tech-related articles following his passion.
